Spawned during a time where peers like Swans and Godflesh were churning out the most terrifying music yet known to mankind, Seattle’s Christdriver were carving their own niche in the darker industrial-metal scene. Conveying pure aggression through pummeling drumwork, distortion, and tortured, guttural vocals, the quartet stood alongside some of the greats for a time. After disbanding in 1996, the band’s underground cult following spread throughout the land, especially after Internet trading and circulation of their out-of-print albums became increasingly popular. In 2011, band frontman Eric Greenwalt revived Christdriver for the occasional live show, one of which will be happening at Chop Suey on Saturday night.

Local heavy trios Great Falls and Thac0 are supporting the bill, and one-man ritual doom outfit Ardent Vein kicks off the evening. $7 adv/ $10 dos // 9pm doors // 21+
