Tomorrow night the Black Lodge is hosting a duel event that is worthy of celebration and your time and money. A celebration because it’s Nik from Good to Die Records birthday show, and your money should go to buying the new Gaytheist record, which this is dually billed as a record release show. Gaytheist is all over the place at the moment and for good reason. Just in the past week the band was announced as an opener for Big Business here in Seattle, a spot on the Capitol Hill Block Party, and will also headline the labels showcase at this year’s Sled Island festival in Calgary, AB. On top of that the band has received a slew of local and national attention recently. Following one of last year’s best records “Stealth Beats”, “Hold Me…But Not So Tight” is more of the “tongue-in-ass-cheeky” goodness Gaytheist is known for, and delivers on just about every level. Tracks like “Stomach Pains” “Into the Trap” and “The Restoration” are stand-outs, but the real nugget of goodness is a little ditty called “Poocano”, that is worthy of several initial repeats. Easily one of this year’s best-of so far.

Supporting the show are Glose, GTD label mates Monogamy Party, and Android Hero playing their first show in eight months. This show is bound to be a rager. As an added bonus, Big Trughk and Wasted USA will keep the music going in between sets next door at the Victory Lounge. Don’t miss it.
