Yow or no Yow—that was the question. The second the Los Angeles band Qui (kwee) announced their Spring 2014 tour, the internet immediately began demanding to know if the human tornado known as David Yow, who provided vocals on the band’s 2007 release Love’s Miracle, would be touring with them. Qui’s Matt Cronk (guitar/vocals) quickly stuck a gag rag in that rumor hole by confirming there would be no Yow for now. And while Seattle is always stoked when we manage to score a visit from the legendary Scratch Acid front man, no one really ended up batting an eyelash at the news ‘cause we all know this: even as a two-piece, Qui tears shit up! I mean, Christ, have you heard Life, Water, Living… yet? It just came out on Valentine’s Day, is engineered by Dale Crover, has artwork by that Yow guy and oh yeah: It’s UH ! MAZE ! ZING! I cannot wait to see them Friday night.

Ween fans will be pretty effin’ stoked for this show too, as the “American rock band” MoistBoyz, featuring Mickey Moist (Ween’s Mickey Melchiondo AKA Dean Ween) and Dickie Moist (Guy Heller) will be bringing their Pennsylvania-styled driving punk and grooving grit to the now 20 year old Tractor Tavern. If you’ve got an ear for Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age or The Dwarves, you’re definitely gonna wanna to check this show out too, as all sources say Moistboyz are touring with bassist Nick Oliveri.

Dudes, this show starts at 9PM. From rather unfortunate past experience, I’ve learned the hard way that The Tractor tends to run closer to on-time than many other Seattle venues, so don’t be too fashionably late to this one—you won’t want to miss one note of it.
