Tuesday March 4th, transcendent instrumental post-metal trio Russian Circles will be coming back to Seattle. Since their formation roughly a decade ago, this Chicago based three-piece has been churning out some of the most impressive and dynamic music in the rock/metal genre, ranging from cinematic buildups and beautiful serene melodies to crushing breakdowns and filthy grooves. Live, they perform flawlessly, piling up immense layers of sound with the extensive and expert use of samplers and loopers. This is a power trio that sounds like an orchestra. For those who have somehow avoided hearing one of their five masterful albums, get caught up and bear witness to their majestic splendor.
Touring with Russian Circles will be Winnipeg’s long standing masters of hardcore, KEN Mode, whose most recent effort Entrench is a delicious adrenaline rush of mathy noise-core, and Seattle’s own Helms Alee, who just last month released the compellingly powerful Sleepwalking Sailors, a record of hauntingly charismatic heavy rock. This is one of the most solid touring bills to come through in a while, do not make the mistake of missing it.
The show is at Neumos on Tuesday March 4th. Doors are at 8pm, it’s 21+, and tickets are $15 in advance, which would be wise to purchase as Russian Circles have been selling out their shows. Link to tickets: https://www.etix.com/ticket/online/performanceSearch.jsp?performance_id=1775464
