Sunday April 28th, the Comet Tavern will surely buckle under the massive collective weight of Samothrace, Bell Witch, and Breag Naofa. The fact that all three of these bands have been featured in the pages of the Seattle Passive Aggressive before should immediately inform you that you would be a fool to miss this one. Any words displayed here should only reinforce your desire to attend, and hopefully work you into a lusty fervor come the evening of your aural combustion.

This show will serve as a tour kickoff for both Samothrace and Bell Witch, who will be crusading across the great empires of Europe, blowing minds and spreading the epic doom of the Pacific Northwest. While both bands carry the torch of sludgey, stoney, doom metal, they each burn with their own unique color and heat. Samothrace, who will be headlining the evening, bring forth a more bluesy style, trudging from slow, almost ambient drones into crushing riffs and soulful shredding. Exploring the more hypnotic and entrancing shades of sludge and doom, Bell Witch will also be celebrating the release of the double LP of their newest record, Longing. Intensely morose and intimately bleak, this drum and bass duo will simultaneously crush and reinvigorate your soul. Starting off the night, anti-preachers Breag Naofa will be gutting ears with their visceral, hard hitting brand of post-metal, definitely not to be missed. Also, just added to the bill were Blighter from Colorado and Down On Knees I’m Weak all the way from Gemany, neither of whom I had previously heard about, but a quick Google search informs me that Blighter describes themselves as “Crust/Stoner/Sludge/Doom Mothafuckas” and Down On Knees I’m Weak have been compared to Neurosis and Kyuss, which sounds pretty badass.

All of this mind blowing entertainment can be observed for the modest price of $7 this Sunday at the Comet Tavern. Additional details can be found on the Facebook event page right here: https://www.facebook.com/events/380619405385103
