Fans of Palm Desert’s late desert rock champions Kyuss, rejoice! Vista Chino, formerly known as Kyuss Lives! and featuring original members of Kyuss, will be stopping in Seattle Tuesday September 10th to resurrect the glory of their masterful brand of heavy stoner rock.

Many surely recall last years performance of Kyuss Lives! at the Showbox, which confirmed that vocalist John Garcia can still belt his lungs out whilst drummer Brant Bjork and bassist Nick Oliveri churn out monstrous grooves behind Belgian guitar shredder Bruno Fevery’s fiendish wailing. Following an underhanded lawsuit and Oliveri leaving the band, the group rebranded themselves under the name Vista Chino with the intent of recording fresh material and touring the world. Last Tuesday saw the highly anticipated release of Vista Chino’s full length debut, Peace, on Napalm Records, a blistering hot collection of downtuned, fuzzed out desert rock. Everything that one would expect from a new Kyuss record is here; the grooves are heavy and entrancing, the guitar solos are simultaneously scorching and chilling, Garcia’s matured vocals soar. There is no doubt that one of the greatest heavy bands to come out of the 90s is back, and they’re back with a fierce vengeance.

Portland-based psychedelic weedgazers Black Pussy have been touring with Vista Chino and will be opening the night. Be sure to show up early because the classic rock influenced psychedelia and heavy, stoney riffs of Black Pussy are the perfect appetizer to the feast that Vista Chino will be. Also on the bill are locals Witchburn, who will be celebrating the release of their new album, Bathed In Blood.

All of this smokey sonic exorbitance can be witnessed at El Corazon, Tuesday September 10th. Advance tickets are $20, doors open at 7pm. Find more info at the Facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/617975454893179.

Highly recommend burning one before you get there.
