Yellfire “Lara Flynn Boyle” Premiere

Bringing together a multitude of elements from Seattle’s post-hardcore heyday, Yellfire have been not-so-quietly stewing in the heavy rock underground for over a year and are finally gearing up to release their debut release, Lara Flynn Boyle, starting with the titular single of the same name.

Blisteringly aggressive while maintaining a solid foundation of skillful songwriting and razor sharp riffs, with “Lara Flynn Boyle” Yellfire display what anyone who’s caught them live already knows: raw, irresistible, explosive energy. The band expertly smashes together influences such as cacophonous hardcore acts such as Cave In or Kissitgoodbye with the powerful heavy rock mentality from classics like Led Zeppelin and Kiss. Guitarists Jerome Sauer and Eric Christianson’s (both formerly of Grenades) relentless riffage dance over the apocalyptic rhythm section comprised of drummer Trent McIntyre (X Suns, Old Iron, Coastlands) and bassist Nouela Johnston (who’s low end duties have since been taken over by Casey Nolan of Matriarch notoriety), while Sauer’s vocals conjure the potent screams of Seattle heavyweights like Botch or Akimbo.

Lara Flynn Boyle was engineered and recorded by Nicholas Wilbur at The Unknown in Anacortes, WA, and mixed by Derek Moree at the Boiler Room in Seattle. The record will be out on October 16th, and you can catch the record release party at the Victory Lounge on November 2nd with stoner/sludge champions Old Iron, Portland noise-rockers Law Boss, and Seattle heavy riff stalwarts Glose. The band will also be live on air on 99.9 KISW’s Loud and Local show with Kevin Diers the following night November 3rd at 8pm.
